The Hawt Dog & Sausage Eatery originally opened in Cherry Creek North in January 2012. Its claim to fame was an elaborate take on a traditionally uninteresting tubular food (hot dogs and sausages), but that wasn't enough to keep the place open. It closed last November.

On May 13, the Hawt Dog's Facebook page lit up with a changed status: "We will be coming back! We are going to be better than ever!" The restaurant spent the next few weeks revamping its already creative menu, and reopened its doors this week at 3030 East Second Avenue.

The hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. For more information, go to the Hawt Dog and Sausage Eatery Facebook page; we haven't had much look getting the place on the phone.
