Fans of Vine Street missed a lot of things during its four-year hiatus. After shutting down during the COVID indoor dining ban in 2020, the restaurant and brewery from the Mountain Sun group remained closed until June, when it finally welcomed guests once again for burgers, beers and, yes, wings.

But some things had changed — most for the better. The once famously cash-only spot now accepts credit cards, and the pre-made tortilla chips that once came as the standard side with burgers and fries were swapped for housemade kettle chips.

The wings, however, were not as fans remembered. They lacked the crunch of the former version because the kitchen had switched to a non-breaded recipe. "Breading costs a lot of money and labor, and it's harder to execute," owner Kevin Daly told Westword at the time. "We gotta do what works...and Denver needs to remember that it voted in $18.29 minimum wage."

But costs aside, what were once some of the best wings in the city didn't take off in the new form, and the Vine Street team took note. "You’ve been asking, and we’ve answered," reads a recent social media post. "The legendary breaded jumbo wings are back baby."

And that news is something to celebrate with an order of those wings — which you can now place online, an update that Vine Street just implemented.

Vine Street is located at 1700 Vine Street and is open from 3 to 10 p.m. (kitchen closes at 9 p.m.) Wednesday through Thursday and noon to close on Friday and Saturday. For more information, visit mountainsunpub.com/location/vine-street-pub-brewery.
