Update: The winners have been notified! Thanks. A Taste of Colorado will return to Civic Center Park this weekend for its twenty-ninth year of fun and serious food. Seriously: The Taste features more than sixty food vendors cooking and selling their fare. Interest in eating your way through Labor Day weekend? We thought so. Keep reading for details on how to win one of the five $50 Taste of Colorado gift certificates we'll be giving away.

Each gift certificate is good for $50 of food and beverage tickets at this weekend's fest, and Westword will not judge how you choose to use it. (Funnel cakes? Yes, please.) To peruse -- and slobber over -- all of your options, visit our culinary guide to the event.

For your chance to win tickets: 1. "Like" us on Facebook, which you can do right here. (Note: If you're already following us on Facebook, you're already eligible to enter; proceed to step two.)

2. Sign in to our commenting system, Livefyre, and leave us a comment below with your name (you don't have to include your real name in your account login, just your comment) and a valid e-mail address, and then check back tomorrow afternoon to see if you've won.

3. If you do win, you'll need to pick up the gift certificate at the Westword office before 5 p.m. Friday.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
