Roland Mesnier, a French-American pastry chef, spent a quarter of a century in the White House, baking cakes and tarts for everyone from the Queen of England to Chelsea Clinton. He got the presidential gig on the basis of his work with low-calorie, fruit-based desserts.
Although Mesnier is now retired, he teaches cooking classes and has written several books on baking and his former stint as chef to the first families.
He’ll talk about his career at 10 a.m. tomorrow, January 28, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 4500 East Hampden Avenue in Cherry Hills Village. Tickets are $30 at the door. For more information, call Gean Hodges at 303-698-0230.
