As we noted in our recent post about a bill to allow lawsuits against schools involved in shootings — which was approved by the Colorado Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday — the legislation was inspired by the December 2013 shooting at Arapahoe High School that took the life of student Claire Davis.

What would this accomplish?! Nothing. As a Columbine survivor, I recognize this as lingering anger for an event that makes no sense and had only one person to blame, the shooter. Hindsight is 20/20. Everyone involved may have had a piece if the puzzle, but each price doesn’t make sense until you see the whole.
