As we noted in our recent post about a bill to allow lawsuits against schools involved in shootings — which was approved by the Colorado Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday — the legislation was inspired by the December 2013 shooting at Arapahoe High School that took the life of student Claire Davis.

The topic stirred some passionate and intriguing commentary.

Among the readers weighing in was a survivor of the 1999 attack on Columbine High School.

Her experiences informed an interesting take on the topic.

Here’s what she had to say.

Sarah Bay writes:

Everyone involved may have had a piece if the puzzle, but each price doesn’t make sense until you see the whole.
