Surprising Denver Spot Named Best Rooftop Bar in U.S.

Denverites love to get high — in a variety of ways, including by partying on rooftops. The city is home to numerous spots where you can drink in the view along with killer cocktails, including our picks for the ten best rooftop bars in the metro area.

But a surprising spot that’s not on our list was recently named the best rooftop bar in America: the Rooftop at Coors Field.

It’s bad timing since the Rockies are done playing for the season (the team’s worst season ever) and going to a game is the only way to access that rooftop bar. While you need a ticket to catch the views, the Rooftop does have one major bonus that we love: cheap beer (sometimes, at least). Every game, before the scheduled first pitch, fans visiting the Rooftop deck and Coors Light Silver Bullet Bar in right field can get 12-ounce drafts of Coors and Coors Light for $3 each, as well as $6 craft beers – and sixteen-ounce tall boys.

That played a factor in Mandoe Media’s rating of the Rooftop. “Despite its massive footprint and multiple bar areas, including the Coors Light Silver Bullet Bar, the venue maintains approachable pricing with $3 beer specials before first pitch and standing room tickets starting at just $19 (including a $6 concession credit),” it writes.

To make its determinations, the company “evaluated rooftop bars worldwide based on views, service, innovation, and authentic local character,” and has “recognized the Coors Field venue for creating an unparalleled stadium rooftop experience that transcends traditional sports bar concepts.”

Denver came out on top in the U.S., beating out Orlando’s STK location at number two and the number three pick, Luna Lounge at Bulla Gastrobar in Tampa Bay.

In the global rankings, the Rooftop at Coors Field was beaten only by Duplex, a nightclub in Prague.

While we’re not sold on the Rooftop even being the best in Denver, we’ll take the win for Coors Field, which hasn’t seen many of those in recent years.
