December brings group shows, big and small, to Denver galleries — as well as one epic, plein air painting journey. Boughs of holly aren’t the only thing decking the halls around town. Despite the holiday hustle, there’s plenty of art to see this weekend — here are a few places to catch it.

More Than Friends
Ironton Gallery

Opening Reception: 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, December 12
The colleagues of Tank Studios, led by former RedLine residents who began building out their Overland artists’ enclave two years ago, prove that they are, indeed, More Than Friends, in this group showcase at Ironton. Twenty-three artists now work side-by-side at Tank as collaborators and studio community members.

Rule Gallery
