“I think it sounds fun to dress up like woodsmen and march down Colfax,” says Kiki Nichols, who organized tonight’s All Jacked Up Lumberjack Colfax Crawl. And it’s hard to argue with her premise; it does sound like fun. It also sounds eminently doable: Almost everybody has a plaid flannel shirt and some old jeans and boots in their wardrobe; find an ax and some suspenders, grow a beard if you’re a dude, and you’re set.

Some attendees are going all out: One group is paying homage to the manliest of lumberjack breakfasts, the flapjack, and will be handing out shots of syrup on the crawl. And there will already be at least one Paul Bunyan (complete with big blue ox Babe). Colfax has seen a lot in its day, but never something like this.

The crawl starts at 5 p.m. at the Cheeky Monk, 534 East Colfax Avenue, and continues into the wee hours of the night. Get more information and RSVP at [email protected]
