Loyal disciples will come together this weekend for the seventeenth incarnation of Nan Desu Kan, one of the country’s largest anime conventions. For three days and nights, NDKers will take over the Marriott DTC in full anime regalia, enjoying keenly organized programming that brings the industry’s biggest stars, experts and creative minds together with retailers, vendors and fans in a celebration of the subculture.

Acclaimed vocalist Raj Ramayya, voice actor Tyson Rinehart and illustrator Hidenori Matsubara will be among the dozens of guests and panel experts on hand. And for the first time ever, anime industry giant Aniplex will have a presence at the convention, selling its films and wares in the ever-popular Dealers Room. “Having been validated by the industry for working to stop bootlegging means a lot to us,” says Jinnie McManus, director of public and industry relations, of Aniplex’s participation in the convention.

In order to accommodate the thousands of visitors who stream through NDK’s doors each year, the convention is adding hotel space for the very popular autograph-signing sessions. NDK is also proud to announce the world premiere of Fairy Tale the Movie: Phoenix Priestess as part of its weekend festivities.

The 2013 Nan Desu Kan goes down today through Sunday at the Marriott DTC, 4900 South Syracuse Street, and the Hilton Garden Inn, 7675 East Union Avenue. Passes are $50 at the door. For more information, including a full list of events and guest stars, visit ndkdenver.org.
