Julio “July” Ramirez is an intern at Westword, covering arts and culture since joining the staff in April 2026. Before joining the team, July worked as a freelance graphic designer and founded Dark Matter, an independent self-published magazine. He holds a degree in Communication Design from Metropolitan State University of Denver, where he was recognized as a College of Letters, Arts and Sciences Graduate Honoree.
