The Art Hotel opened yesterday on Broadway in the Golden Triangle, on the same block as the Hamilton wing of the Denver Art Museum and the Clyfford Still Museum. The hotel’s restaurant, Fire, is now open too, offering a menu from executive chef Chris Jakubiec (most recently of Plume, inside Washington, D.C.’s Jefferson Hotel), great views of the city, and art installations from a number of top contemporary artists.
Fire features a fourth-floor terrace with fire pits, sliding glass doors and cabana-style seating. There’s also a lounge, bar and dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows on the south and east sides of the space, giving views down Broadway and even glimpses of the mountains from a few window-side tables.
Jakubiec’s menu is modern, yet social and approachable, with Colorado ingredients and a “refined yet playful” appeal. Jakubiec runs the food service program for the entire hotel, so Fire is open for daily for breakfast lunch and dinner. Will you step up to support Westword this year?
At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $23,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
