A small Colorado brewery is taking a big step forward: Later this month, Big Choice Brewing in Broomfield will unveil a new beer packaged in 19.2-ounce cans with a resealable plastic lid – not the twist-off kind, but one that slides back into place so that the beer can be opened one night and finished the next. But not everyone’s a fan of the plan. In fact, several flipped their lids at the news. Says Michael:
Way to take the perfectly recyclable aluminum can and add plastic to it that will end up in the landfill. Fucking brilliant!
Adds Brendan:
If you can’t finish a beer, then you shouldn’t be drinking. Open it and fucking finish it like a man, candy ass.
Will you step up to support Westword this year?
At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $23,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
And Michael concludes:
Finally! The solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.
What do you think of Big Choice Brewing’s innovation? Will you be at the party where the beer debuts on October 21?
