Reader: Would You Call Participants in a Bar Crawl “Drunks”?

Last week we reported on the upcoming MassRoots Munchie Crawl, a variation on the popular pub-crawl concept that “will take a group of stoners to a string of locations along Broadway.” While some readers applauded the move, one did not approve of our choice of nouns. Says Cr Del:

So, would you call the folks who participate in a bar crawl or something similar drunks?! Let’s lose the negative connotation.

Actually, chances are good that we’d call people in a bar crawl “drunks” — and we’d be right in there with them. For the record, we don’t consider “stoner” a negative connotation. In fact, we feature it every week in our Ask a Stoner column. But what do you think? Should we ban drunks and stoners — as descriptors in stories, at least?
