Fire on the Mountain

Don’t let the laid-back vibe and Grateful Dead-style attitude at Fire on the Mountain fool you. This wings joint, which has three locations in Oregon and opened its first Denver store in 2012 (the South Logan outlet is the second), serves one of the hottest plates of wings in town: the El Jefe, which was featured on the Food Network. The Highland joint also serves grass-fed beef burgers, sandwiches and salads, but it’s the wings — made from hormone-free, antibiotic-free, cage-free Red Bird Farms chickens — that take center stage. Try all twelve varieties, or order the boneless kind for less mess. And if you don’t eat meat, FOTM offers seitan wings, too.
