Golden Moon Distillery

In 2007, when the U.S. government finally allowed absinthe to be made and sold in this country, distiller Stephen Gould was ready. He'd already accumulated antique stills in his garage, and he began to experiment with producing the infamous green fairy. That hobby turned into Golden Moon Distillery in 2008, which has since expanded to an eclectic lineup of eighteen liqueurs. Golden Moon distills some rarely produced libations, such as crème de violette, amer dit picon and grappa, but all of Golden Moon's spirits are crafted by Gould's skillful hand, with no artificial ingredients and a painstaking adherence to traditional distilling methods, many of which date back to the 1800s. You can taste the fruits of his labors at the Golden Moon Speakeasy.
