It’ll be an evening of shock rock at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater on Saturday, September 12, when Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson swoop in on their recently announced co-headlining tour.

Rob Zombie barely needs introduction; he’s known for his music as well as his films, which include cult favorite House of 1000 Corpses, 2007’s Halloween remake and, most recently, The Munsters. He’s found a horror-brother in Manson, a self-proclaimed Antichrist Superstar whose reputation likewise nearly precedes his music, with a three-decade-plus career riddled in controversy (you can read plenty more about his most-shocking moments). In recent years, he has made settlements with two women who accused him of sexual assault and other abuses after facing similar allegations from over a dozen women.

The brand of shock and heavy rock is what galvanizes their fans, though, and Manson and Zombie have toured together before. They first mounted their Twins of Evil Tour in 2012; it spawned sequels in 2018 and 2019.

But for this particular tour, we’re way more stoked about one of the openers: the Hu. This band makes Mongolian folk metal that’s heavy, primal and soul-stirring — the kind of music that moves you to your core, incorporating Mongolian war cries, throat singing and traditional instruments like the morin khuur.

Editor's Picks

If you find shock rock a little tired and trite and are on the fence about this concert, the Hu is reason enough to catch this show. There’s also another opener to supplement the offerings: Orgy, a ’90s cult-rock band that blends industrial rock, nu-metal and synth pop.
