At approximately 12:20 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, Denver police officers responded to a report of a stabbing on the 3500 block of Elm Street. The victim was rushed to Denver Health.
The Denver coroner's office subsequently revealed that Morrison was pronounced dead at 12:57 a.m. "An autopsy was completed to determine the cause and manner of death," a release noted. "The cause of death is sharp-force injuries. The manner of death is homicide."
The DPD quickly took a suspect into custody and tweeted that he "knew victim." The department also put out a release noting that identification would wait until next of kin was notified, without mentioning that the arrestee was actually a relative of the victim.A probable cause statement accessed by 7News confirms that Jesse and James were brothers.
It also points out that Jesse was found to have been stabbed a total of eleven times.
The wounds were found on his torso, back and sides.
Thus far, the Denver District Attorney's Office hasn't announced charges against James, but they're anticipated. Here's a larger look at his booking photo, followed by our previous coverage.

A suspect in the crime -- one who's said to have known the deceased -- is in custody. Here's the latest.First official word of the slaying came from the Denver Police Department via this tweet:

Most of the late-night TV journos who might otherwise report from the scene of such an event are covering yet another bitterly cold commute. But 9News' Noel Brennan offered this tweet from the location....

The phrase "knew victim" covers a lot of territory -- and thus far, the name of neither the suspect nor the person who died has been released.
