One of Eldora's more popular runs, Jolly Jug is featured in the following three videos:
At 9 p.m. on Monday, the BCSO notes, deputies received word of a missing-person report, with the caller saying that a 22-year-old from Boulder had spent the day skiing at Eldora but hadn't returned.
Deputies soon found the man's car in the Eldora lot. Shortly thereafter, employees began combing the resort, and they found the victim's body.
The victim appears to have struck a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Thus far, the Boulder County coroner's office hasn't identified him.
The skier was found "slightly off of the Jolly Jug ski run," the BCSO points out -- and how far off will determine whether his death will count toward the official tally kept by Colorado Ski Country USA. The organization doesn't include fatalities that take place off resort property.
Either way, the incident remains a tragedy for the man's friends, family and loved ones. Our sincere condolences.
