Though the Broncos finally made the playoffs, the team isn't suiting up for the finale — which means many Denver fans are free to focus purely on the fun this year, without the stress that comes with rooting for the home team.
For those pondering whether they're tired of Patrick Mahomes or blown away by his brilliance to people rooting for Saquon Barkley to become the rare running back to win Super Bowl MVP, Denver has plenty of sports bars to catch all the NFL action. Plus, some of our favorite spots have great specials just for the Super Bowl.
There are options for Chiefs and Eagles fans, and even places for those of us who will be tuning in just to see Taylor Swift in the stands. Most important, all these locations will have game sound on so that patrons can hear Kendrick Lamar's latest putdown of Drake at the halftime show.
Here are the best places to watch the Super Bowl in Denver, in alphabetical order, but first...
For those watching at home
This is an appealing option for anyone unwilling to fight crowds. If that's your plan, the Post is offering takeout-only deals for Super Bowl Sunday from all of its locations. La Fiesta2340 Champa Street
For those who just can't wait for Sunday to start the fun, one of our favorite Mexican restaurants is getting things going Saturday night. A former Safeway in Curtis Park became La Fiesta more than sixty years ago, and any special event at this usually-weekday-lunch-only (as well as Friday and Saturday evenings) spot is definitely a fiesta. On February 8, the Herrera family is hosting a Super Bowl warm-up party from 8 to 11 p.m., complete with the full menu (that green chile is hotter than Travis Kelce), a DJ and salsa dancing. There's no admission charge.
