The Crown Social opened a year ago at 1446 South Broadway, taking the place of the Black Crown Lounge. Owner Kell Peplau-Kaiser rolled out a bar menu of all-Colorado spirits, wine and beer in the Victorian mansion that also served as an antique store, jazz lounge and supper club. But a message on the Crown Social's voicemail indicates that the bar ceased operations over the weekend.

According to the message, Crown Social closed due to "an unworkable situation between the landlord and tenant." It also states that the Crown's management is actively seeking a new location.

This particular space has seen a number of restaurants come and go over the years, including Cafe Cero and the Open Tap & Grill. A sign on the building indicates that the space it available. Interested parties can call 303-916-7995.
