Denver may be landlocked, but we still have some of the freshest seafood in the country — really! — thanks to our proximity to a "harbor" of our very own, Denver International Airport.
From iconic sushi spots like Sushi Den (which is set to expand again soon) to longtime staples like Jax Fish House, which recently celebrated thirty years in business, there are a lot of high-quality seafood joints in the Mile High.
But according to Yelp, one cozy RiNo eatery reigns supreme. The review site just released its list of the Best Seafood in Every State 2025. According to Yelp, "We identified businesses in the seafood category with a large concentration of reviews mentioning 'seafood,' then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including geographic location and the total volume and ratings of reviews," to determine the top spots.
In Colorado, Fish N Beer, one of our current picks for the top 100 restaurants in Denver, took the number-one spot.
Restaurateur Kevin Morrison, who also owns Tacos Tequila Whiskey (aka Pinche Tacos), opened Fish N Beer at 3510 Larimer Street in 2016. The focal point: a wood-fired grill behind a row of counter seating where guests can get a front-row view of the culinary action.
We love a lot of things about Fish N Beer, but we always start with the wood-fired oysters, made with either garlic butter or its signature Devil Butter. They taste even better at $3 each or a dozen for $30 during happy hour, which runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. You can also score happy-hour deals on raw oysters ($2.50 each or twelve for $24), plus other bites such as a Mini Fish N Beer Basket or PEI mussels for $8.25 each, and fried bay scallops with french fries for $10.
Alongside mainstays like wood-grilled Spanish octopus and Session Lager-battered cod with fries, be sure to check out Fisn N Beer's Tack Box Treats when you visit — a selection of rotating specials created by the chefs.
