From Pizza to Pumpkin Pie, Fourteen Tastiest Events on the Culinary Calendar

The holidays are here. That means family, food, football and festivities will be plentiful, and this week's culinary calendar is stuffed with events to prove it. But the holidays aren't all about pigskin and stuffing your face (although those are both great); the season is also about helping out others. And you have several opportunities for lending a hand this week, too. Keep reading for all the festive details.   

Monday, November 23

Keeping with holiday tradition, the Christkindl Market has settled into Skyline Park. The old-world market will be selling everything you need to get into the holiday spirit, from food and drinks to handmade gifts and much more. Through December 23, Christkindl is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday (with extended hours during the Parade of Lights on December 4 and 5). Frasca Food and Wine will be exploring the wines of France with Ashely Hausman-Vaughters at today's edition of the restaurant's Monday Night Wine Dinner Series. Head to either of the two Pizzeria Locale locations in Denver to pick up a gift for the pizza lover in your between today and December 31, and you'll get a gift as well. Customers who buy a gift card worth $25 or more will receive a card for one free pizza. For more information, click here.

Starting today and running through Sunday, MOD Pizza is celebrating the seventh anniversary of its Spreading MODness campaign. During this stretch, MOD Pizza in Park Meadows is partnering with TLC Meals on Wheels and will be donating $1 from every pizza sold to the charity. The staff at Billy's Inn is getting into the holiday spirit today by donating 100 percent of all lunch-time tips to the MaxFund Animal Adoption Center and no-kill shelter. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., any tip you leave will go straight to MaxFund. The restaurant is also helping to find Ranger, a well-behaved seven-year-old Boxer mix, a new home by offering a free dinner and drinks for two to whoever adopts him. This evening you can savor food from one of your favorite restaurants while helping a great cause: Dine Out to End Childhood Hunger. For the fundraiser, over twenty Colorado restaurants have teamed up with Share Our Strength's Cooking Matters Colorado, and will be donating 10 to 20 percent of sales to the charity. Wednesday, November 25 

Head to ViewHouse in the Ballpark Neighborhood at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve for extended happy hour specials, prize giveaways including a Breckenridge snowboard, turkey bowling, DJs and more; for more information, check out or call the bar at 720-282-1548. Starting today and running through December 16, both Viewhouse locations will be drop-off locations for your donations to the Care for Colorado Toy Drive to benefit Denver Metro Boys & Girls Club. When you bring a toy, you'll get a free ViewHouse Peppermint Godiva Chocolate Martini — and if you keep drinking them, $1 for each martini will be donated to the Care for Colorado Toy Drive. Take your friends and family to Punch Bowl from 7 to 10 p.m. tonight and show them a good time while lending a helping hand to our four-legged friends. Punch Bowl's third anniversary party will benefit the Denver Dumb Friends League: A $10 ticket will get you light apps, two drink tickets, music and complimentary games, and 100 percent of ticket sales go directly to the Denver Dumb Friends League. It's NovemBEER at Park Burger RiNo, and this will be the final Tap Takeover of the month. Tonight Park Burger will welcome Ballast Point and Comrade Brewing, which will bring ten unique beers. Thursday, November 26

The Squeaky Bean crew is taking over where Rosa Linda's Mexican Cafe, its former neighbor, left off, and is taking over a thirty-year-old tradition: a free Thanksgiving feast for those in need. The seventh annual Operation: Turkey Sandwich will be handing out hot lunches to those who have to work on Thanksgiving this year. Last year volunteers delivered over 1,000 lunches around Denver, and this year the organization is looking to beat — but it needs your help. Friday, November 27
The team at Beast + Bottle has partnered with A Community Taking a Stand to host a food drive to help those in need. Any diner who brings in five non-perishable food items between today and December 30 will receive a token for a free glass of wine selected by the sommelier.
