Illegal Burger isn't opening a new location, but it's launching something that was once illegal — a food truck serving cannabis-infused food. The infusion will be CBD-only for now, because selling THC-infused food outside of a dispensary still is illegal, but one day we could be munching on marijuana burgers or THC tacos. For now, we can just look forward to this spring's launch of the AmeriCanna Cafe food truck, a project of Illegal Burger's parent company.
Earlier this week, we reported that RiNo Yacht Club will be pulling up anchor from The Source at the end of January. That's just the beginning of the changes at the market hall, though. The Source will soon get a new central bar (with Harvest Juicery pressed juices by day and booze by night) called Isabel, named after Isabel Nesmith Evans, the woman who ran the original Source foundry in the 1880s. Also at the Source, baker Ismael de Sousa will open Reunion Bread Company, where he'll bake breads and pastries reflecting his Venezuelan and Portuguese background, as well as his travels in South Africa, England and the United States; look for a January 19 opening. And Acorn is expanding into the space previously occupied by Western Daughters Butcher Shoppe.
Here's our complete list of restaurant and bar openings and closings for the week of January 7 to 13, 2019, plus links to coverage of current and upcoming changes.

"Illegal Burger Owner Partners on New Cannabis-Infused Food Company"
That this past week didn't see many openings was no surprise; the scene needed a break after 2018, another big year for restaurant openings — and closings — in metro Denver. Last year, we chronicled more than 230 openings of new restaurants and bars, ranging from Acova, which filled the big shoes left behind by Patsy's, to Zocalito, the last eatery to open in 2018.
Have you spotted any openings or closings that we may have missed? Let us know in the comments, or send an email to email@example.com.
