Photos: Izakaya Den debuts its new rooftop patio today

Last month, Izakaya Den opened the doors to its sleek new space at 1487 South Pearl Street, right next to its sibling, Sushi Den. But only the first floor was ready for business. Tonight, the restaurant will officially unveil the stunning second floor of the new building, which features a patio overlooking Pearl Street, private dining areas and a second bar -- with a retractable roof.

Keep reading for a look at this second-level space.

Izakaya Den's new "global" menu emphasizes "Japanese techniques and traditions blended with contemporary flavors," and there's a cocktail list to match, as well as a sake list with over 100 options.

Izakaya Den is open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday and lunch on Saturday and Sunday; it's closed on Monday. For more information, go to the restaurant's website or call 303-777-0691.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
