The pickleball craze continues, and food halls are back in the spotlight, too. Relish, which opened June 20 in Louisville, combines both concepts. There are two outdoor courts; inside the facility, you'll find nineteen more courts as well as food stalls. Look for grand-opening deals all weekend — and enjoy air-conditioned play.

Milk Market doesn't have pickleball, but it does have air-conditioning as well as two new occupants: Lucky Bird and Konjo Ethiopian Food, with YumCha soon to join the lineup.

Garibaldi's Mexican Bistro is back in play, after being seized by the City of Englewood during its tenth anniversary week for failure to pay taxes. "We talked to the city and they worked with us on lowering the payment that we owed," says owner Jesus Cruz, who reopened his eatery yesterday.

Benzina is serving again, too. After announcing in February that Benzina would close at the end of March, owner Brad Anderson said that because of the support of regulars, he was moving that date back to the end of May. "And who knows, we just might get enough momentum to make it work," he added. "With your help, we could pull off one of the great miracles of the Denver restaurant scene." And then, after closing for a week at the start of June, Benzina reopened with a "new concept" that looks very similar to the old concept, but with some new menu items, including spaghetti.

Also back in business after a long break: Frank Schultz's Whiskey Tango Foxtrot in Prospect. His Otra Vez Cantina will return to 16th Street next month.

While there are no big closings to report, some are coming. After celebrating a seventh anniversary on June 18, Middleman and Misfit Snack Bar will be gone by the end of the month, and the kitchen will stop serving tonight.

In other restaurant news:
  • While there have been some high-profile closings, Denver diners are anticipating many big restaurant openings this summer,

  • After five years on the road with his food truck, Vladimir Demin has opened the first brick-and-mortar location of Samos Grill in the former home of Seasoned Swine BBQ.
