Scott Kramer, husband of the year? Not if the accusations made against him in an arrest affidavit on view below prove true.

According to the document, he not only threatened to kill his soon-to-be-former spouse's new boyfriend, but he also torched her wedding dress and photo albums.

At just shy of 9:30 p.m. on June 29, the affidavit maintains, an officer was dispatched to the home of a woman who'd reported that her estranged husband -- Kramer, 35 -- had been making harassing phone calls and texts.

Upon his arrival, the cop was presented with evidence that she was telling the truth: Thanks to the miracle of voice mail, he heard a man on speaker declaring that he wanted the woman's new boyfriend to meet him at Congress Park, where he'd kick his ass, then kill him, after which he'd probably go to jail. He added that he didn't want his former beloved to accompany her new beau because he didn't want her to see him commit murder.

One more thing: The caller, whom the woman identified as Kramer, had previously said he was going to burn items belonging to her if she didn't bring his kids over.

When she chose not to follow this edict, Kramer allegedly sent another message her way. The gist: Your wedding dress, photos and skis are burning in the alley. And after another officer headed to the address in question to check, he discovered that in this case, Kramer appeared to have been as good as his word.

The Denver District Attorney's Office has charged Kramer with second-degree arson. He was released from jail on a $50,000 bond, but he's due back in court on July 20 -- which could turn out to be a big day for him. According to the Denver Post, which documents Kramer's previous record (felony criminal impersonation, driving while ability-impaired, a restraining order in an earlier divorce), his pending split from the woman is scheduled for a review on that very same day.

Even optimists would have to admit a reconciliation probably isn't in the cards.
