"We can't tell you how much it means to us to open the tour in the state in which we grew up. It's a homecoming," Trey Parker said via a press release yesterday. "We can't wait to play the show across America and the fact that we're getting the chance to start where we grew up is an incredible bonus and very humbling."

The musical, which follows the sweet but incompetent exploits of two Mormon missionaries in AIDS-ravaged Uganda (hilarity ensues) is slated to open at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in December 2012, making Denver the first place anywhere off Broadway folks can see it. No word yet on when it makes the sojourn to Salt Lake City -- the complete tour schedule won't be released for a couple of weeks.
