Cheapo has long supported local music with in-store performances and selling their CDs on consignment. At the new location, Lusk plans to incorporate an even wider variety of local creatives. "We're going to continue our support of local music and expand it to local film as well, " he says. That could include film screenings as well as selling the work of local filmmakers on a similar consignment basis as he currently does with local musicians. The new store will also have more of a focus on vinyl.
Once the new location is finalized, Lusk says it will be "a few weeks" between the closing of the old store and reopening at their new location. In the meantime, the current location is having an inventory reduction sale with tons of used CDs for a dollar or less. So if you're in the market for some new (to you) music and/or want to see the old place one last time before it closes, now's the time to do it.
