We would hate for you to miss out on all the awesome that happens every weekend in our fair city, so we've decided to run down three of the best shows in one easy-to-swallow post, with video and audio. Tell us -- and the rest of the world -- what we missed in the comments.
This is the first really great live music weekend of the year, with a schedule so stacked we had to leave a couple good shows out of this rundown. What did make the cut, besides The Chain Gang of 1974 topping a truly awesome lineup at The Blubird tonight, is Hello Kavita, Kissing Party, Anvil, Snoop Dogg, and that's just the bill toppers. 1. The Chain Gang of 1974 With The Pirate Signal, Pictureplane Bluebird Friday, January, 29. Show starts at 9pm. $10
Why you should go: Two factors unite these bands. The first is that they have all gotten bigger than the Denver scene and, in a year, any of them could be our city's prime ambassador throughout the country. The second is that they will all make you fucking dance. Want to guess which one ensures our attendance?

2. Hello Kavita With Action Packed Thrill Ride, Matt Boyer Hi-Dive Friday, January 29. Doors open at 8pm. $6
Why you should go: Hello Kavita's album To A Loved One gets more astounding with each listen and it has now settled in as the sort of music that takes us to our happy place regardless of the shit happening around. Action Packed Thrill Ride do a similar thing in a totally different way, carefree and endlessly entertaining.

3. Kissing Party With Night Owl and Paean Moe's BBQ Friday, January 29. Show starts at 8:30pm. $5
Why you should go: This one should be interesting -- Moe's BBQ isn't a place that hits our radar too often for shows of this caliber. It is a great place, however, and the bands on this bill put on the sort of live shows that are over too soon.

4. Anvil With Tauntaun and Havok Gothic Theatre Sunday, January 31. Doors open at 7pm $20 presale, $23 day of show.
Why you should go: This is a surreal opportunity to see a band that matters more than almost everyone realizes. Joined by local metal legends, Anvil is the sort of band every music fan -- metal head or not -- would do well to see. 5. Snoop Dogg With Sid Fly Ogden Theatre Saturday, January 30. Show starts at 9pm. $37.50-$40.00
Why you should go: What can we say about Snoop Dogg? He's the most lovable gangster ever, he has arguably the best song on the radio right now ("Gangsta Luv") and he's been doing it since most of us were in elementary school. Did you know his real first name is Cordozar? How kick ass is that?
