Told ya' Thursday is the new Friday. As proof, there's no shortage of killer local shows tonight around town: U.S. Pipe is celebrating the release of its new platter at the Bluebird, as is Chuck Potashner (teamAWESOME!) at the Oriental Theater, where he'll also be playing his last show in Denver before moving to San Diego on a bill that also includes Bad Weather California and Wetlands.

Elsewhere, at the hi-dive, the World Romantic is headlining a bill that includes Sarina Simoom and Kyle Galanaugh, the Meadowlark has the Bedsit Infamy, Safe Boating is No Accident, Little Dead Things and Temples, while 3 Kings is hosting a bill featuring Forth Yeer Freshman, White Fudge, Fried Nothing Television and Ooh La La Burlesque, and Bender's has its weekly Mommy's Little Monster with DJ Klaw, Deftron and El Brian.

If ever there was a night when we wished we could be in more than one place this is it -- all of that stuff sounds great!

As it stands, though, we'll be over at the Marquis for Bands You Need to Know 2 featuring, Lion Sized, Big Timber, Eleanor and Speakeasy, Tiger. We were on hand for the inagural edition, sponsored by Radio 1190's Local Shakedown, a few weeks back, and, man, what a killer bill that was, with A Shoreline Dream, Fell and Roger Green. This time around, Mile Hi-Fidelity is fortunate enough to be presenting the show, and as such, thanks to the fine folks at Soda Jerk, we have several pairs of tickets to giveaway. If you'd like to go to the show, drop us a line, and we'll pick several winners at random. Good luck!

Whatever you end up doing tonight, be safe and have fun!
