Teacher Leslie Carlson Suspected of Giving Students Alcohol, Pot Edibles

Leslie Carlson was a teacher at Pinnacle High School — was being the operative part of the sentence.

Carlson has been fired after her arrest for allegedly providing some of her students with alcohol and marijuana edibles.

The Facebook page for Carlson appears to have been taken down. But 7News managed to access it and has shared photos like this one....

...as well as multiple posts in which she praises the teaching profession. One from this past May reads: "I know why I became a teacher. These kids are amazing. I'm lucky to work with them, not the other way around. I hope they know that."

An item from a couple of months later strikes a similar theme: "Went and got my car tinted this afternoon. When the guy asked me that I did for a living I told him I was a teacher and you know what he did? Thanked me. Didn't try and tell me that he was sorry that the education system was so bad, or that he doesn't know how I do it. Nope. Just, 'Thanks Teach, it means a lot. Thanks for caring.' It was refreshing for a change."

Presumably less appreciated are the accusations Carlson is now facing. On February 13, according to the Thornton Police Department, officers met with supervisors at Pinnacle High in regard to an investigation the school had conducted following a report that Carlson had "provided alcohol to juvenile students."

This act didn't take place at the school, but at another location in Thornton, the PD maintains. The students in question are reportedly between fourteen and eighteen. They're not being identified owing to their ages.

As the investigation continued, info surfaced suggesting that the students had also been given marijuana edibles, the police department adds.

Shortly thereafter, Carlson was placed in custody, only to be subsequently released pending the filing of official charges against her. The TPD notes that among the charges being explored is child abuse.

Meanwhile, she's reportedly been fired from Pinnacle.
