The Cantina Laredo restaurants bill their cuisine as "modern Mexican" -- the description that Richard Sandoval tried to trademark for his restaurants, including Tamayo. But that war of the words has no part in this closing.
And although Tarbell's and The Oven were early casualties in this development, other eateries seem to be going strong; while the lineup is chain heavy, there are some independents -- and Snooze opened its fourth outpost here in 2010.
The current lineup at Streets at SouthGlenn, according to the Streets website:
Ivy at the Glenn Mellow Mushroom Saj Mediterrean Grill Peet's Coffee & Tea Bar Louie Tokyo Joe's Maggie Moo's Ice Cream and Treatery Noodles Qdoba Diego Zhang's Corner Bakery Cafe Hodson Bar and Grill Pho 95 Smokin' Joes Barbecue SkyboX Bar (inside Hollywood Theaters) Snooze 5 Star Burgers O. Coffee Kiosk Yo! Cheese Kiosk Dairy Queen/Orange Julius
But there could soon be a new addition to that list: The Cantina Laredo space is available.
