The shtick at Sexy Pizza is the re-creation of the archetypal New York thin: A solid version of the classic outer-boroughs red-and-white pie with a hand-tossed crust, a sweet handmade sauce and toppings laid on thick. But the kitchen also does calzones, stromboli, meatball sandwiches and — in a stroke of genius — the “Ball in a Hat,” which is essentially a single-meatball sandwich wrapped in dough and baked. The original Cap Hill location is particularly popular with night owls, since it’s open until at least midnight every night.
