Wearing a beautiful piece of clothing just makes you feel good. It does something for your mind, your body, and if you are a shopping addict like myself, it does a bit for your soul. So just imagine how you would feel knowing that piece of clothing is not only environmentally ethical, but was chosen for you to purchase by two women who love clothes just as much as you do. Women who understand that how we feel on the outside is a reflection of what is going on inside.
These two ladies are Emilie Oliver and Hallie Wastell, the owners of Lovely boutique in Olde Town Arvada. Opened in April, Lovely is a union of fashion and ecological awareness, something that both women feel very strongly about.

“We live our lives with social and ecological awareness,” says Oliver. “It is very important to both of us that these core beliefs be integrated into our business decisions.”
These decisions include selecting clothes for Lovely that are American made, fair trade and eco friendly. Sometimes these descriptions can conjure up images of clothes that are less than stylish, but that is not the case at Lovely. They carry denim by Joe’s and Big Star, and C&C California and Language are among their brands. The styles combine a sense of grit and sexiness with a polished and sophisticated look that anyone can wear and look, well, just lovely.
Lovely is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday 12-5pm. Please visit their website, www.lovelyboutique.net for more information and to read their blog, which talks about upcoming events.
