The monastic life may not hold much appeal in the modern world, but it does have one major perk: the brews. Monks — particularly Belgian brothers — have long supported themselves through brewing and make some of the most famous beers in the world. If you aren't of an ecclesiastical disposition (or just can't make it across the pond), dip your toe in the vast ocean of excellent beers at this brewpub, which serves traditional Belgian styles (blonde, farmhouse, tripel, table beer) alongside hybrids (Belgian IPAs and stouts) and a smattering of miscellaneous styles (goses, brut IPAs, witbiers). Add a small but tasty menu of burgers and innovative food flights to pair with your beverages, and any thoughts of taking a vow of silence will vanish as quickly as your drink.
