Zephyr Brewing

In early 2013, three Colorado friends — Brian Wood, Rich Wisniewski and Tyler Shuey — decided to open a brewery in River North. The neighborhood grew quickly during the next year and a half, and eight breweries popped up within walking distance — while the trio’s project, Zephyr Brewing, suffered through permitting, power and construction delays in the multi-tenant complex where they’d decided to house it. Despite the passing of Shuey, who died a year before Zephyr finally opened in 2014, Wood and Wisniewski forged on and opened the spot, which includes a 96-person tap room decorated with a Colorado theme.
