Independent Journalism in Denver Needs You
We need to raise $25,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Dear Stoner: Are there any cannabis-friendly workout classes in Denver? I’ve really enjoyed a toke before, during or after my workouts (sometimes all three), and it’d be nice to meet people or receive some exercise instruction and still be able to do it.
Pink Buffalo
Dear Pink Buffalo: Finding a cannabis-friendly yoga class is pretty easy if you know where to look. Tetra Lounge hosts one every Sunday, and the Coffee Joint, a vape-only cannabis lounge, occasionally hosts yoga classes, too. There have also been cannabis-friendly hiking and disc golf groups in Denver. But if you don’t enjoy yoga or outdoor activity as exercise, you’re going to have a hard time.

Lindsey Bartlett
Yoga classes only require an instructor and mats for participants, but a real gym setting needs a lot more equipment – and any facility with weights and proper exercise equipment definitely isn’t licensed for cannabis consumption. The Coffee Joint has hosted one or two dance workout classes in the past, so a pot-friendly HIIT class isn’t totally out of the question. Most people who visit a weed lounge just want to chill or listen to music, though, so you might have to keep toking up alone before hitting the gym.
