The Colorado Rockies will play their first game at Coors Field on April 4, marking many Opening Day traditions around the city. Though the Rockies seem poised to repeat their miserable performance of the last two seasons, the stands at Coors Field will probably still be full, especially for fan-favorite theme nights that incorporate postgame fireworks, Star Wars or Harry Potter.

This year also represents the Thirtieth Anniversary of Coors Field. The Rockies are throwing a big birthday bash on Saturday, April 26, to mark the occasion. Dante Bichette, who hit a walk-off home run in the 14th inning on April 26, 1995 — the day Coors Field opened — will throw out the first pitch. (Anyone interested in a Dante Bichette shirt will need to buy a special theme ticket. The Rockies also promise 1990s themes, music, a special anniversary beer and a $5 drink and hot dog combo for everyone in attendance.)

Fireworks nights are always some of the best days at the ballpark (and the most expensive). This year, the Rockies play at home on Independence Day, so the team will offer fireworks on both July 4 and 5 to celebrate. The Rockies will also put on a fireworks show in September, after the team’s penultimate home game of the season.

Other highlights include Star Wars Night in July, Harry Potter Night in September and three buy-one, get-one hot dog nights in April, May and June.

The Rockies will offer autograph opportunities for fans throughout the season, as well. In 2025, home games on Sundays with a start time of 1:10 p.m. are autograph days. On those days, from 11:40 a.m. to noon, fans can get autographs from select players.
