33 Denver Homicides in 2nd Half of 2015: See Where They Happened and More

This past July, we published a post detailing twenty Denver homicides during the first half of 2015

In it, we noted that the total, while disturbing, was also fairly typical.

There were twenty Denver homicides during the first half of 2012 and 22 in the first six months of 2013.

But from July through December, the amount of bloodshed in the Mile High City has been much, much worse.

We've been using the number fifty as the homicide sum for 2015 — which calculates to thirty during the second half of the year, including Jayvion Johnson, seen above, who was killed at the age of 23 months.

But the Denver Post documents that there have actually been 33 if the murder of Teodoro Leon is counted. Leon's body was found on January 1, which made him the first murder victim to be found in 2016. But police believe he was actually killed the night before, on New Year's Eve.

Continue to see the 33 homicides, with basic statistics — date, time, neighborhood, age, gender and cause of death — plus photos and links to those covered by Westword.
