Now, the Denver coroner's office has identified the man as Michael Martinez -- and has determined that the cause of death was homicide.
Martinez, a 27-year-old from Thornton, was found near the park's South Platte River Drive entrance with a gunshot wound to the head, and it didn't take long for the cops to conclude that the injury wasn't self-inflicted. At this writing, the investigation is continuing.
