A short time ago, we told you about a triple-injury hit and run near an East Colfax-at-Josephine bus stop in which bystanders got photos and video of the driver fleeing the scene.
Well, a Fox31 crew was at the scene early this morning for a live shot and interview on the subject when a baby was delivered mere feet away.
Photos and details below.
Strangely, the Fox31 piece online at this writing doesn't mention the crew's presence at the bus stop. For that -- stranger still -- we must turn to 9News, which reports that a Fox31 camera operator was on hand with RTD supervisor Fran Metz, readying for a live shot, when a white mini-van zoomed up.
Inside was a woman, Rosy Flores, who was in labor. She'd come from Saint Joseph's Hospital, where she'd been told she wasn't dilated enough to deliver -- a diagnosis that proved very wrong very quickly, as evidenced by this photo tweeted courtesy of Fox31's Joshua Hans:
Fox31 has footage of Flores being taken away from the scene by ambulance. Unfortunately, the outlet's video tech doesn't interact well with our blogging software, preventing us from embedding it. But here's a screen capture. In the end, clearly, the station wound up with a much happier story than it set out to deliver.More from our Colorado Crimes archive: "Hit-and-run driver caught on video actually running from East Colfax triple injury."
