Look below to see the top ten, complete with photos and the number stolen this year.
Number 10: Jeep WranglerNumber stolen: 51
Jeep Wranglers are common sights in the Denver area, but prevalence alone probably doesn't explain why it landed in the top ten. As you'll see, the Jeep brand strikes a sweet spot for plenty of local thieves....
Number 9: Ford F-150Number stolen: 61
Another Colorado favorite, the Ford F-150 is known for being steady and reliable -- and because there are so many of them on the roads, you can bet there's a big demand for parts.
Number 8: Acura IntegraNumber stolen: 63
In some markets, Integras are sold under the Honda nameplate -- and Hondas have long placed prominently on stolen-car lists. Hint: This won't be the last time you'll see a vehicle emblazoned with a Honda insignia here.
Continue to keep counting down the ten most stolen cars in Denver. Number 7: Subaru ImprezaNumber stolen: 65
We expected to see a Subaru on this roster, but not this one. Given all the Subaru Outbacks on area highways, we figured that sheer volume would make it a top target. Apparently, Imprezas are more impressive to the criminal class.
Number 6: Honda motorcycleNumber stolen: 73
As reporters, we pride ourselves on our keen powers of observation -- so we instantly noticed that this is not a car. But the DPD thinks car thieves are targeting these rides, too, and who are we to argue?
Number 5: Toyota CamryNumber stolen: 84
I once owned a Camry, and I'll bet plenty of you did as well. This model has long been among the most purchased vehicles by occupants of this planet, car thieves included.
Continue to keep counting down the ten most stolen cars in Denver. Number 4: Jeep Grand CherokeeNumber stolen: 102
A prestige SUV, to be sure, but one whose drivers don't usually get branded with pretentiousness thanks largely to its Jeep ancestry. Still, it's undeniably sought after, including by people who would rather take than buy.
Number 3: Jeep CherokeeNumber stolen: 112
Not as grand as the Grand Cherokee, but even more appealing to crooks.
Number 2: Honda CivicNumber stolen: 312
The digit above is not a typo. Nearly three times as many Honda Civics were grabbed in Denver this past year as the third-place Jeep Cherokee. And yet it still trails one of its automotive brethren.
Number 1: Honda AccordNumber stolen: 320
Clearly, the Accord has won the car thieves' stamp of approval. Which isn't necessarily a good thing.
