The Pint Room, a Beer and Burger Bar With 175 Taps, Opening in Littleton

Beer and burger specialist the Pint Room got its start in Dublin, Ohio, three years ago offering 101 beers on tap. A second spot with 126 taps opened last year in Carmel, Indiana. And this week, the company will open its third Pint Room in Littleton, in the former home of the Celtic Tavern on West Belleview Avenue, where the pattern of growth will continue: The newest member of the family will have 175 taps and plans to dedicate 150 of those to Colorado beers.

The new Pint Room will hold a soft opening tomorrow evening and then will be open for regular business hours on Thursday, with a grand opening planned for Friday. General manager Robbie Collins says that each of the three locations dedicates itself to local beer and food, so the bar will stock primarily Colorado beers, with 25 handles remaining for national brands, regional craft beers from other states, a couple of ciders and one root beer. The food, by chef Will Adams, will also showcase Colorado meat and produce as much as possible. "We'll have Colorado's best beer and great food under one roof," Collins says.

"We know that Colorado is a beer mecca in the world," he explains of the Pint Room's decision to open in Colorado. "Why not come to Colorado and put our best foot forward?" The GM couldn't give an exact number for the  breweries that will be represented, mainly because the selection will rotate constantly. But he notes that "it's not just the big hitters — we'll give the little guys a chance as well."

The Pint Room's bar program will also include infused vodkas and a whiskey list — primarily bourbons — that will top off at about 100 selections. Monthly beer and whiskey dinners will also be offered once the bar has a chance to settle in.

While a few other bars around the country may have more beers on tap, Collins says his distributors are almost certain that 175 is a record in Colorado, at least.
