The Refinery, a More Refined LoDo Bar, Celebrates Grand Opening Next Week

Eight years after opening the Retro Room at 2034 Larimer Street, owner Dominic Roybal has opened The Refinery two blocks away at 1932 Blake Street, in a space that the Sports Column was using as an overflow room. While the Retro Room has an old-school feel, The Refinery has more of an industrial feel; Roybal says the new spot has a little classier environment. Although the Refinery is surrounded by sports-centric bars like Swanky's and the Sports Column and has multiple TVs, Roybal says this bar won't push sports. The drinks are classier, too: The Refinery offers a number of vodka, whiskey and tequila infusions, as well as juicer cocktails made with fresh juice and alcohol. The Refinery will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, September 6 with a DJ and giveaways. Here's a first look at the refined Refinery...
