Enrique Vega, 22, is a budding entertainer whose Facebook page overflows with glamorous portraits and clips of him singing sensitive songs. But his possible music career just took a major hit due to an incident at his day job as a South High School security guard: He's been arrested on charges related to sexting students. Photos, videos and more below.
Here's a look at assorted Facebook pics of Vega, each seemingly ready for use on an album cover:
In addition, the page features videos of Vega performing "All of Me" by John Legend....
..."Say Something" by A Great Big World....
...and "Gravity" by Sara Bareilles:
The information found in a probable cause statement obtained by 9News and 7News contrasts sharply with these performances. Vega allegedly sent his phone number to a girl he met at Denver South's Freshman Academy who thought he was cute, and in a subsequent text, he floated the possibility of having sex. A friend of the girl reportedly responded by telling Vega to "stay away," but before long, the two of them are said to have started exchanging explicit messages and nude photos; his allegedly featured his body and penis. But a proposed rendezvous at a local hotel never happened due to Vega's fears that the "school board was watching him," the report states.
While neither teen says anything physical happened, Vega was taken into custody Monday night on suspicion of child sexual exploitation and sexual assault on a child involving a person in a position of trust -- and police are investigating to determine if more teens are part of the story. Meanwhile, South High administrators sent a letter to parents explaining the situation and identifying Vega by name. The letter follows a 7News report.
