All right, if you thought the inaugural edition of Monolith last year was pretty kick ass, wait until you get a load of this year's line-up, which comes even closer to living up to the festival's name: How about some TV on the Radio? Justice? Vampire Weekend? Neko Case, And what about a little Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings? Band of Horses? Nice, right? And those are just the acts in bold print.

The rest of bill reads like a tip sheet of the new hotness: A Place to Bury Strangers, Holy Fuck, Akron/Family, Cut Copy, the Night Marchers, White Denim. Oh yeah, and did we mention that Bright Channel is getting back together for the occasion?

Jeebus.

In this climate of complete festival over saturation, you've got to hand it to Monolith folks for trying to distinguish themselves from the pack with their ambitious bookings. Instead of just poaching the acts anchoring all the other fests, it's attempting to blaze a trail of its own, showcasing the current kingpins alongside the bands they presciently believe to be the indie rock stars of tomorrow. Tickets for Monolith go on sale this Friday, May 2, and will be available for purchase either individually for $59.50 or a two-day pass for $110.
