Terribly sad news to share in case you're like us and somehow managed to miss this when it happened more than a month ago: On Wednesday, October 19, bluesman John Alex Mason died from complications after a routine surgery. The gifted guitarist, who was just 35 years old, is survived by his wife, Rosanne, and two children. Next Saturday, December 17 at the Winter Blues Fest at Toad Tavern, a number of fellow local blues artists, including the Delta Sonics, Dan Treanor & the Afrossippi Band and Reckless Red, among others are paying tribute to late guitarist. Our condolences to John-Alex's family and friends.
