View Larger MapThe two young men slain in a double homicide during the early hours of January 11 have been identified by the Denver Coroner's Office. They are Lonell Franklin, 21, and DeShon Lee, 19; Lee was still alive when he was transported to Denver Health from the 3300 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard, an area captured in the graphic above (if you have problems seeing the image, click "View Larger Map"). However, he died late that evening.
No new information from the Denver Police Department about the case, or the search for the shooter or shooters -- but here's the basics about the crime itself:
On Monday January 11, 2010, at 11:00pm Denver Police Officers responded to the area of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Adams Street on a call of a shooting. When officers arrived they found three shooting victims. One male was dead at the scene. Another male and a female were both transported to Denver Health Medical Center where the male was pronounced dead and the female suffered non-life threatening wounds. During the course of the investigation it was determined that the two deceased males were involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown individual at the liquor store at Bruce Randolph and York Street. The two males got into their vehicle and drove east bound on Martin Luther King Boulevard and stopped at the red light at Steele Street. A silver or gray SUV pulls up and someone from that vehicle fired into the victim's vehicle. The names of the victims are not being released at this time pending the autopsy and notification of next of kin by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
