It is a shame that Steve Horner no longer lives in this state, because the anti-ladies'-night crusader would have found a warm welcome -- a very warm welcome -- had he shown up for last night's "ladies-only" wine-tasting at Venue. The event was designed to aid the free flow of conversation (and of wine) and was open to anyone who came (and paid) -- meaning that it was ladies-only in name only.

It is a shame that Steve Horner no longer lives in this state, because the Colorado Civil Rights Commission is busy enough handling the concerns of actual residents without having to listen to the whines of out-of-staters who aren't even trying to attend the events they're complaining about.

A tip for Horner: Don't bother bitching about Girls Only, the production now playing in the Galleria at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. It, too, is open all (I checked with the Denver Center yesterday). But should you come back to this state, I imagine that the audience at this ladies-only-content show will be only too happy to give you a warm welcome -- a very, very warm welcome.
