If you don’t know what to expect, a GWAR show can be a little disturbing. When the on-stage choreographed violence begins, and the first spurts of fake blood and semen begin streaming into the crowd, more than a few people become varying degrees of confused and disgusted. They’re finding out why hardcore GWAR fans don’t show up in their Sunday best: what’s happening in the crowd is as much a part of the show as the chaos on stage. Sure it’s messy, but if you’re down to get puked on by a giant monster from another planet, nothing beats a GWAR show.
